Leadership Positions
Youth Leadership Opportunities in Troop 1128
About Youth Leadership
Troop 1128 is a Scout-led Troop, meaning youth Scouts hold leadership positions and are responsible for planning and running Troop activities. Leadership positions are a key part of the Scouting experience and are required for advancement to Star rank and above.
Leadership Terms: Positions begin in April and October each year, typically running for six months. Scouts apply for positions they are interested in, and selections are made by the Senior Patrol Leader and Scoutmaster based on qualifications and Troop needs.
Requirements: All leadership positions require attending the Introduction to Leadership Skills Training (ILST) course, following the Be Active policy, and completing a leadership agreement. Both the Scout and a parent/guardian must acknowledge the leadership agreement before the Scout begins receiving credit for the position.
